A trip to Cuba for a summer school and two back-to-back international research conferences has been concluded - with great success as it turns out. Matthias Kaminski traveled to Havana, Cuba on May 2nd and lectured at a summer school at the Institute for Cybernetics, Physics and Mathematics (ICIMAF) in Havana about holography. He also presented our research on chiral magnetic transport and charged magnetic black branes at the first of two conferences, STARS2017 and SMFNS2017 (May 7-13). Lectures and the talk were very well received and lead to fruitful conversations with local and international physicists during and after the presentations. Students and faculty in Cuba were very welcoming and common research interests lead to many interesting discussions - some of which are ongoing.
